At London’s DSEI 2025 defense exhibition FightLite showcased some of their newest machine guns – the DFX and the AMG-3. Florida-based FightLite talked us through the new guns and explained their features. The DFX, Dual-Feed Conversion, is an upper receiver group which can be paired with any MIL-Spec AR-15/M16/M4 lower receivers. Like other FightLite firearms the DFX uses M27 linked ammunition belts (or AR-15/Stanag magazines). Unlike other FightLite weapons the DFX doesn’t have a quick-change barrel which FightLite say aims to make the DFX simpler, cheaper and more streamlined.

The DFX’s standard features include gas-piston operation, a heavy-duty, free-floating fixed barrel system, and a free-floating, slimline Picatinny railed handguard. FightLite say they have aimed the DFX at the Infantry Automatic Rifle (IAR) market, by providing the flexibility of being able to feed the weapon from a magazine but also have the capacity to feed from a belt if the situation calls for it.

The second of FightLite’s new offerings is the AMG-3 (Assault Machine Gun) which builds on their AMG-2. Unlike earlier FightLight weapons the AMG-3 has a left-to-right side opening feed cover. This enables the AMG-3 to have a full-length top rail that allows uninterrupted mounting of optics and other accessories. Another clever feature enabled by the side opening feed cover is that the quick change barrel latch is now protected under the rail. This prevents it from accidentally being actuated and also ensures good handling drills by having the user open the feed tray and allow them to visually confirm the weapon is clear.
