Have you visited the National Law Enforcement Museum?

Located in Judiciary Square in Washington, D.C., the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and the National Law Enforcement Museum stand directly across from each other, providing a blend of tribute and learning. The Memorial, inscribed with over 23,000 fallen officers’ names, is a tribute to officers who have died in the line of duty, with new names added each National Police Week.

Right across the street, the National Law Enforcement Museum delves into the reality of police work through a variety of interactive exhibits. Visitors can step into the roles of 911 dispatchers through a high-pressure call simulator, experience the critical decision-making of a police officer in a decisional shooting simulator and test their investigative skills by solving cases in a detective interactive display.

The museum also houses important artifacts, such as the handcuffs used to arrest Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassin and the first issued FBI badge. Visiting both the memorial and museum offers insight into the sacrifices and everyday challenges faced by law enforcement officers.
