Thunder Beast Introduces The New Fly 9 Suppressor
The FLY 9 is configurable in two lengths: Long and Short. The Long configuration is lighter by at least 20%, in many cases 35% or even 50%, than other full-size 9mm suppressors. It measures at 7 inches and weighs only 7.9 ounces in the Long configuration, including the booster, piston, and spring. In the Short configuration, it’s simply shorter and lighter than anything else out there. Including the piston, it’s 4.4″, which will typically add about 4.0″ to the OAL of the pistol. It weighs only 5.5 ounces, and that includes a 17-4 steel piston (1/2-28 for weight reference). The FLY 9 is strong. TBAC’s test regimen was three 32-round Glock magazines fired from a select-fire subgun: the first two mags bursts, and the last mag full auto. The Fly 9was torture tested for 30 cycles and the suppressor was perfect afterwards.
The Fly 9 suppressor will be rated for .300 Blackout supersonic ammunition from 8″ or longer barrels or subsonic .300 Blackout ammunition with a minimum barrel length of 5.5.” The suppressor is also rated for the straight-walled hunting-oriented .350 Legend cartridge from 16″ barrels or longer. The Fly 9 suppressor will come standard with a 1/2-28 TIP piston, fixed barrel spacer, hi-temp Cerkote finish, and can be readily converted to work with a wide variety of thread adapters including Rugged, SilencerCo, and others threaded 1.125″x28. The suppressor has an overall width of 1.39 inches which means it should be able to be tucked underneath most standard handguards without issue and should also be compatible with most suppressor height sights or red-dot equipped pistols.
