NEW YORK — A drunken driver crashed into an SUV in Brooklyn early Sunday, sparking a chain-reaction crash that left his passenger and two NYPD cops hurt, police sources said.

Diyorjon Sobirjonov, 24, was intoxicated as he drove a black 2024 Chevrolet Suburban north on Coney Island Ave. in Sheepshead Bay and slammed into a 2022 Volvo XC90 headed west on Avenue U at about 2:10 a.m., cops said.

The impact sent the Volvo, driven by a 34-year-old woman, into the path of a marked NYPD car going south on Coney Island Ave. , causing the two vehicles to collide, cops said.

One police officer suffered a broken pelvis and arm, as well as head trauma, while another suffered a broken hip, cops said. Both were hospitalized and are in stable condition, according to police.

A 31-year-old man passenger in the drunken driver’s Chevrolet was ejected and was in critical condition at the scene before he was later stabilized at NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, cops said.

The Volvo driver and a passenger suffered minor injuries and declined medical attention, cops said.

Cops charged Sobirjonov, of Midwood, with DWI, driving while ability impaired, refusing to take a blood-alcohol test and multiple counts of reckless endangerment.
