At SHOT Show, Steiner introduced the MPS-C as the latest addition to its pistol-optics lineup. It is a new compact, fully enclosed pistol red dot designed for the RMS-C footprint.

It builds upon the earlier MPS but shifts to a more compact footprint without reducing the window size. The focus lies on durability, sight picture, and battery management without unnecessary complexity.

STEINER MPS-C
MSRP is around $575.

The MPS-C uses a fully enclosed emitter in an all-aluminum body. As a result, the design resists debris and moisture better than open-emitter micro dots. The optic fits slides cut for the RMS-C footprint, keeping compatibility with a very common pattern.

The window is much larger in relation to the body compared to the original MPS.

The MPS-C has a 2 MOA dot reticle. I personally prefer a small dot like this for both my handguns and rifles. If I want ot to be more visible, I just run the brightness a little higher. Additional reticle options may come later, but none are confirmed.

The optic includes a shake-awake feature that turns off the reticle when the pistol is still and turns it back on with movement. This extends battery life compared with always-on operation. The company estimates roughly 20,000 hours of runtime under typical conditions. It is powered by a single 1632 battery, which can be swapped without removing the optic.

Steiner did not provide a finalized IP rating for the MPS-C at SHOT Show. They indicated the rating should align with existing models, but no certified number is available at this time.

The MPS-C appears on the company’s website now, and orders are open. Representatives did not specify when these will ship, though expectations point toward the next couple of months.

With a listed MSRP of $575, the MPS-C falls in line with other high-end micro dots.

The MPS-C aims to offer a rugged, compact option in the RMS-C class. Be sure to check out Steiner’s website for a full breakdown of this optic’s features.
