I like to keep at least one “back to basics” rifle in my collection, and this might be another perfect fit. Arsenal, Inc. has expanded the SAM7K family with a short-barrel rifle variant, the SAM7K-28, pairing the proven 7.62×39mm SAM7K action with a purpose-built precision-machined aluminum buttstock. The new stock attaches via a 1913 Picatinny interface and was engineered and manufactured in-house to deliver the rigidity, fit and ergonomics required of a compact Short Barreled Rifle (SBR).

Built for durability and repeatable performance, the SAM7K-28 retains the hallmarks of the platform: hammer-forged then milled receiver construction for long-term strength and consistent tolerances; an 8.5-inch cold-hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel for serviceable longevity and accuracy; and enhanced fire control components supplied by FIME Group. Those mechanical attributes make the SAM7K a natural choice for a short-barrel configuration where structural integrity and reliable function are non-negotiable.
Yes, it’s also available in Plum.

The SAM7K-28 is aimed at shooters who want full-power 7.62×39 performance in a compact, tactically minded package. It’s described as a short-barreled rifle that leans on proven engineering rather than compromises.

Central to the SAM7K-28 is Arsenal’s new CNC-machined aluminum buttstock assembly. The key attributes are:
- Precision CNC machined single-piece aluminum body for dimensional accuracy and strength.
- 1913 Picatinny attachment interface used to securely mount the stock to the rear of the rifle.
- Lightweight tactical design that improves handling while preserving structural integrity.
- Ambidextrous cheek rest for consistent sight picture and shooter comfort.
- Four non-rotating QD sling ports for dependable sling attachment in multiple configurations.
- Protective rubber butt pad for comfort and retention.

Each SAM7K-28 ships ready for the range with a practical accessories kit: Arsenal includes a FIME enhanced fire-control group, a sling (color varies by finish), a cleaning kit with rod and oil bottle, a thread protector, and one 10-round magazine color-matched to the furniture. The rifle is compatible with Arsenal’s SM-22 optic mounts, muzzle devices and extended magazines (all sold separately) and fits neatly in the Eternity Universal Pick-and-Pluck hard case.

The SAM7K-28 SBR package is available through authorized Arsenal dealers and FFL retailers, with inventory varying by dealer. Note that ownership and transfer of short-barrel rifles are governed by the National Firearms Act (NFA) and applicable local laws; purchasers must complete any required transfer, registration and approval procedures before taking possession.
The MSRP is $2,499.99 and there’s a little more information in this direct link: https://www.arsenalinc.com/usa/product/sam7k-28/
I like it, but I’m probably more of a Krinkov Underfolder type of guy. What about you?
