DELTONA, Fla. — Two boys, ages 12 and 13, have been charged in connection with a destructive vandalism spree that caused an estimated $50,000 in damage to Friendship Elementary School in Deltona, ABC News reported.
The boys allegedly broke into the school twice on Sept. 13, once during the day and again later that night, targeting the school’s media center. Body camera video shared by the Volusia Sheriff’s Office shows extensive damage, including shattered glass doors, overturned tables, shelves, shredded books and graffiti.
According to investigators, the boys confessed to the vandalism after their mothers turned them in to authorities.
Both juveniles have been charged with burglary, trespassing, criminal mischief and theft.
