Smith & Wesson has doubled down on its lever-action revival, announcing two major additions to the Model 1854 Series: a new rifle chambered in .30-30 Winchester and the Stealth Hunter configuration in .45-70 Government.

Both launches fuse classic lever-gun heritage with modern features built for today’s hunters and shooters.

Smith & Wesson’s new .30-30 Model 1854 blends the timeless deer rifle cartridge with 21st-century enhancements. The rifle carries a 6+1 capacity, forged 416 stainless steel receiver, and a 20-inch stainless steel barrel threaded 5/8×24 for suppressor use.

Out of the box, shooters get:

  • Large loop lever for smooth cycling and faster follow-ups
  • Flat trigger design for consistent finger placement
  • 5¾-inch Picatinny optics base
  • XS Sights® ghost ring rear and gold bead front sight
  • M-LOK compatible forend with sling mounts

S&W says the .30-30 1854 offers the “perfect blend of heritage and innovation” for this fall’s hunting season.

The big-bore crowd now gets a tactical twist: the 1854 Stealth Hunter in .45-70 Government. With a shortened 16.3-inch stainless barrel, the rifle weighs just 6.5 pounds and measures 34.3 inches overall — compact enough for thick woods or backcountry carry.

The Stealth Hunter also comes ready for customization:

  • Large loop lever for gloved operation
  • Threaded 11/16×24 muzzle for suppressors
  • Flat trigger and extended 10.5-inch Picatinny rail
  • T6 aluminum forend with 15 M-LOK slots
  • HIVIZ® Litewave H3 fiber optic front sight for day/night visibility

Finished in an all-black Armornite® coating, the Stealth Hunter is built for durability while delivering modern performance in a classic cartridge.

With these two releases, Smith & Wesson is showing the lever gun isn’t stuck in the past. The company is actively blending old-school reliability with features like threaded muzzles, M-LOK rails, and optics-ready receivers — keeping the lever-action platform alive for hunters, enthusiasts, and modern shooters alike.
