Whitney Cummings Shocks Maher Crowd: ‘I Need a Gun Now’

Comedian Whitney Cummings delivered a curveball on Real Time with Bill Maher, admitting that motherhood hasn’t just changed her—it’s reprogrammed her politics.

“I’ve always been a very liberal person—maybe even a libtard,” she said to roaring laughter.

“But once you have a kid, you start like having thoughts that have been characterized as conservative. As soon as I had a kid, I was like, I need a gun now.”

Wait—Whitney Cummings wants a gun? Yes. And not to join a militia or fend off burglars, but… coyotes.

“I’ve got coyotes in my yard,” she explained. “Before I had a kid, I was like, ‘They coexist with us, coyotes were here first… I’m in the coyote’s home.’ Now I’m like, ‘Let’s make hats out of them. Let’s make coyote boots. Coyote earrings out of their eyeballs.’”

Call it a vibe shift, or just parental survival instincts kicking in with extreme prejudice.

Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report chimed in with a clip of the segment, deadpanning, “A conservative is just a liberal mugged by reality.”

He summed up the shift: “Suddenly you have a family to protect… then you suddenly realize, boy, a fence does matter at your house.”

Rubin didn’t stop there. “Maybe I should have a gun. Maybe it starts opening up doors in your mind… Boy, that is odd. Why is the government forcing me to inject my child with this thing when kids don’t die of it?”

His conclusion?

“Congratulations to Whitney Cummings. I think you’re well on the way to becoming a sane person… Maybe you don’t have to become some hardcore right-wing traditionalist… but you might just be for America and freedom and liberty.”

And, Rubin added with a grin, maybe even “in the same party… as Donald Trump. But maybe even Tucker Carlson—if he’ll let some of his nonsense go away.”
