The suspect, who police say left the scene of a three-vehicle crash, was pulled over by officers in a nearby parking lot. Body camera footage shows officers approaching the SUV and questioning the suspect about the crash.

When asked whether he had been involved in an accident, Dziedzic denied it. An officer informed him it was a legal requirement to provide information following a collision and told him he would be placed in handcuffs.

Moments later, the man reached into his waistband, prompting officers to yell, “He’s got a gun!”

Both officers then opened fire. The video shows the suspect slumped in his seat with a gun still visible in his waistband.
Assistant Chief Christy Smith said the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were injured.
