HEBER CITY, Utah — A police department testing out AI-powered report-writing software had to make a slight edit to one of its reports, FOX 13 reported.

The report initially stated that an officer morphed into a frog while conducting police activity, according to the Heber City Police Department. Officers with the department issued a correction: it doesn’t employ amphibious officers.

“The body cam software and the AI report writing software picked up on the movie that was playing in the background, which happened to be ‘The Princess and the Frog,’” a Heber City sergeant told FOX 13 News. “That’s when we learned the importance of correcting these AI-generated reports.”

The sergeant stated that the technology saves him around 6-8 hours per week. Officials say that the department intends to continue use of report-writing software after the test period ends, according to the report.
