Auto Ordnance, working with the artists of Altered Arsenal, has unveiled a powerful tribute to the Marines and soldiers who fought on the black sands of Iwo Jima.
In recognition of the battle’s 80th anniversary, the company has released a limited edition M1 Carbine deeply engraved with scenes, symbols, and names honoring those who gave their lives for America.

The rifle’s walnut stock serves as the centerpiece. Its forward section bears the solemn inscription HONORING THE FALLEN, while the remainder of the wood is carved with extraordinary detail.
Engravers included the individual names of many of the American servicemen who died in the battle, turning the stock into a memorial that can be held in hand.
The rear section features a depiction of the flag raising on Mount Suribachi, a map of the campaign, military iconography, and a prominent 80th Anniversary medallion.
While heavily engraved, the rifle maintains the look and function of the historic M1 Carbine. It is chambered in .30 Carbine and built to the same pattern that made the lightweight American carbine a legend in World War II and beyond.
Auto Ordnance describes the project as both a working firearm and a historical artifact intended for collectors, historians, and anyone who wishes to preserve the story of the battle.
For compliance in all states, the commemorative is offered in two configurations. The AOM130C4 ships with a 15-round magazine. The AOM140C4 ships with a 10-round magazine. Both rifles feature the same engraved woodwork and commemorative treatment.
The Battle of Iwo Jima remains one of the most iconic and costly fights of the Pacific campaign. Auto Ordnance states that this rifle is intended as a direct homage to the courage, sacrifice, and determination of the Americans who fought there.
Auto Ordnance is part of the Kahr Firearms Group and is widely known for its historic Thompson firearms, 1911s, and M1 Carbines. More information on the Iwo Jima 80th Anniversary M1 Carbine can be found on the company’s website.
