Masked Trio Terrorize Alexandria Home!

It looked like a scene out of a horror film: doorbell video shows a masked trio at the front door of a West Alexandria home, ringing the bell and jiggling the handle, then moving around the property.

According to an ABC7 News report, the family initially thought it was a Halloween prank—until the mood flipped.

Shayla (last name withheld), who’s been staying with her mom and younger brother, says she tried to brush it off at first.

“I said, happy Halloween when they first came… asked them to get off the property,” she told ABC7. “When they didn’t, that’s when I realized it wasn’t a joke anymore.”

The video captures pounding at the door and voices outside. The family says the trio then moved to the rear of the house and damaged the property.

“They tore the whole thing down,” Shayla explained, walking ABC7 through the backyard path the masked individuals used: “So they hopped on here. They came through there… to be able to knock on the back door.”

Police responded and opened an investigation, but the costumes complicate identification. Detectives are asking anyone who was in the area that night and has information to come forward.

As for motive, the family is still searching for answers. “Why would they target here? I have no idea,” Shayla said. “That’s why I’m not taking it lightly and I just feel as if my mom’s going to be in fear for a while because we don’t know who it is.”

This incident is a reminder that “pranks” turn criminal the moment threats and property damage begin. The family did the right things: call for help, keep the door closed, document everything, and have a gun at the ready.

Now, they’re relying on the community to help identify the suspects.
