Pocket Sized Garmin Xero C2 Chronograph — SHOT Show 2026

Garmin used SHOT Show 2026 to roll out the Xero C2 chronograph, an update to its compact velocity-measuring lineup. The pocket-sized unit builds on the earlier Xero C1 with faster sampling, broader device integration, and a higher price tag.

Like its predecessor, the C2 aims at shooters who want quick, reliable data without hauling a bulky setup to the range.

The headline upgrade is speed. The Xero C2 can now measure up to 10 shots per second, which should better handle rapid strings from rifles.

For lower-velocity pistol rounds, the unit measures up to three shots per second. The sensor covers a wide velocity range, from 100 feet per second all the way up to 5,000 fps, making it suitable for everything from airguns to high-powered rifles.

Garmin also claims the C2’s battery will last for up to 2,000 rounds. That’s a practical improvement for shooters who don’t want to recharge or swap batteries during long range sessions or load development days.

Unlike the C1, the Xero C2 connects to Garmin’s ShotView app. Users can monitor and control the chronograph from a smartphone or a compatible Garmin watch.

On these interfaces, velocity data updates in real time on the screen as shots are fired. This is better than requiring a post-session sync, or keeping a watchful eye on the chronograph itself.

The app also allows shooters to pause and resume sessions, which makes it easier to separate strings or switch loads without starting from scratch. All recorded data stays organized in the app for later review. This allows you to return to the same environmental or load data with ease.

Garmin kept the form factor small. The Xero C2 is compact enough to fit in a pocket, staying true to the minimalist approach that made the original appealing. There’s no mention of added bulk despite the increased performance.

The Xero C2 carries an MSRP of $699. That’s $100 more than the original Xero C1 when it launched. The price bump reflects the faster shot tracking and expanded integration, but it also places the C2 firmly in the premium chronograph category.

For shooters already invested in Garmin’s ecosystem, the Xero C2 offers a familiar, more capable option. For everyone else, the added cost may come down to how much value they place on speed, portability, and app-driven control.
