Another would-be attacker learned the hard way—you don’t go banging on someone’s front door in the middle of the night making threats, especially in Texas.
Just after midnight on Ingram Road, a man in his 40s reportedly showed up at a home on the northwest side of San Antonio, banging on the door and shouting threats.
According to San Antonio Police, the homeowner had every reason to fear for his life.
Instead of opening the door to find out what the man wanted, the homeowner did what many would consider smart: he defended himself. Police say the homeowner fired multiple shots through the door, striking the suspect once and sending him to the hospital.
At last check, the suspect was in stable condition—and lucky to be alive, per KEN5 News.
Police are still investigating, and no charges have been filed against the homeowner. It looks like a textbook case of self-defense under Texas law.
The incident serves as a reminder: in a state where millions lawfully exercise their right to armed self-defense, showing up at someone’s home uninvited—and threatening them—is a quick way to end up on the business end of a barrel.
