GREENWOOD, Neb. — A Nebraska state trooper was killed while responding to a crash, KETV reported.
Trooper Kyle McAcy, 31, was assisting with a crash on Interstate 80 on Feb. 18 when he was struck by a snowplow outside his patrol car, according to the Nebraska State Patrol. He died at the scene.
McAcy, a 10-year veteran of the department, served in the Patrol Division, Carrier Enforcement and as a crisis negotiator, according to the report. His death marks the 13th line-of-duty death in the agency’s history and the first in six years.
The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
