AR-Wielding Security Guard Stops Nightclub Shooter

A security guard armed with an AR-style rifle stopped a violent attack outside a Chattanooga nightclub last month, highlighting once again why modern sporting rifles are essential for self-defense.

According to Local 3 News, the incident began around 1:00 a.m. in the 5200 block of Woodland View Circle, near the Chattanooga Housing Authority.

Police say an argument between two men escalated when 21-year-old Da’Shaun Foster retrieved a firearm from his home and opened fire.

However, instead of hitting his intended target, Foster struck two teenagers—one, a 17-year-old, suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound to the head, while a 16-year-old was shot in the leg but is expected to recover.

Surveillance footage captured the moment Foster fired into a crowd. That’s when a nightclub security guard, armed with a modern sporting rifle, stepped in and fired multiple rounds, stopping the shooter before lives were lost.

Authorities arrested Foster after witnesses identified him as the gunman. He now faces three counts each of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault and is being held on a $50,000 bond.

His court appearance is scheduled for February 18, and the investigation remains ongoing.

This incident serves as a stark rebuttal to anti-gun rhetoric. Gun control advocates often claim that AR-style rifles have no place in civilian hands, yet here we have a clear-cut example of one saving lives.
