SHOT Show is the Shooting Hunting Outdoor Tradeshow, and I saw two cool food-related products for hunters from Essential Provisions and MeatSafe.

When you’re hungry NOW and can’t wait 15 minutes for freeze-dried, or don’t want to carry water just for your rehydrating food, Field Fuel ready-to-eat meals from Essential Provisions are an excellent choice. These meals were originally developed for the United States Special Operations Forces and are crafted with clean, nutrient-dense ingredients to provide sustained energy and nourishment.
Field Fuel offers a variety of meal options for different tastes and dietary needs. Some of the available meals include:
- Bison Chili: Hearty and flavorful option packed with protein.
- Bison Stew: Rich and satisfying meal perfect for cold days.
- Lentil Chili: Plant-based option that is nutritious and delicious.
- Vegetable Stew: Wholesome choice for a vegetarian meal.
Field Fuel meals are convenient and easy to prepare, making them ideal for outdoor adventures, emergencies, or busy days when you need a quick and healthy meal. I look forward to reviewing these soon. They will be available later this year, starting at $13.95.
I like this idea a lot. Designed specifically for hunters, this innovative storage system features high-efficiency cooling technology to maintain optimal meat quality over extended periods.
The MeatSafe’s large capacity accommodates various cuts and types of meat, ensuring that every piece is preserved perfectly.
Instead of one large freezer, it has several drawers that are managed in zones. You can turn off part of it once it’s empty. It also manages humidity to reduce freezer burn.

Additionally, its integrated software and hardware system provide better organization and tracking, reducing food waste and making it easier to manage your stored meat. The app will tell you what you’ve got in the freezer and suggest recipes. That seems pretty cool; I wonder if they have more recipes for badger.
Their ideal is that you can honor every kill by ensuring it is stored and preserved with the utmost care. I like the idea and the sentiment. I also like the stainless steel top with a removable butcher block. I could see this being an island in my kitchen.

The MeatSafe is shipping later this year, and you can join the waitlist now — which will give you time to save up the money you would otherwise spend on a good used car.
Although the $8,500 price tag is a lot, buying another high-end appliance, like a Sub-Zero freezer, could be $12,000. Check them out at MeatSafe.com.
