COBB COUNTY, Ga. — On Thursday, the Cobb County Police Department announced the apprehension of three murder suspects wanted in connection with multiple cases across various jurisdictions.
The three suspects were not named in the department’s news release or its video posted to social media.
In a Facebook post, Cobb police said the arrests were achieved within a 30-day span, thanks to “cutting-edge technology, unwavering dedication and teamwork.”
On Nov. 2, officers received an alert for a suspect accused of killing one person, wounding two others and assaulting a five-year-old child.
According to a video posted to the Cobb Police Department’s Facebook page, the suspect, who had last been seen driving a silver Honda Pilot, was tracked using advanced technology to White Boulevard in Mableton.
Officers spotted the vehicle leaving the residence, and when the suspect attempted to flee, briefly pursued the vehicle through a McDonald’s parking lot before bringing it to a stop, authorities said.
The driver was identified as the murder suspect and taken into custody. A weapon linked to the crime was also recovered, police said in the video.
Ten days later, on Nov. 12, officers located another suspect wanted for failure to appear in a homicide case thanks to the officer using “investigative tools,” Cobb police said.
The suspect fled, leading officers into a high speed pursuit before crashing into another car and abandoning the vehicle. The driver was captured that night, but the passenger escaped and was found the next morning in nearby woods not far from the original scene, police said.
On Dec. 1, officers tracked a third suspect, wanted for malice murder in DeKalb County, near I-20 in south Cobb, where the suspect was arrested without incident after a felony traffic stop, said police.
Details of the arrests were shared on the department’s social media and YouTube. To view the video, visit https://youtu.be/OzaX5nDdtB4.
