WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 6, 2024) – Today, Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) issued the following statement on the 2024 General Election:

We congratulate President Trump on his successful campaign and election as the 47th President of the United States. We are delighted that the majority of voting Americans rejected the dangerous, anti-freedom agenda of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. And we are eager to expand our efforts to advance the rights of the People we are proud to serve.

President Trump will very possibly have the opportunity to nominate multiple Supreme Court justices and fill hundreds of circuit and district court judgeships during his upcoming term. Accordingly, we are especially optimistic about the long-term judicial outlook for our fight to restore the right to keep and bear arms. FPC’s already-massive and growing strategic litigation program, FPC Law, will continue to eliminate unconstitutional and immoral arms restrictions at the fastest rate in history.

The fight to restore liberty throughout the United States does not end at yesterday’s ballot box. As history has shown, the out-of-control administrative state and its army of anti-rights bureaucrats will never concede. You should expect and prepare to fight back against further attacks on your rights from within corrupt U.S. government agencies like the ATF, DOJ, and others, not to mention tyrannical state governments like California, New York, New Jersey, and Illinois, among others.

In the final analysis, politicians—even those who claim to support constitutionally protected rights—cannot be trusted. We must remain vigilant and continue to fight forward together, as a movement and community, and demand that our elected officials take action, not just pay lip service to our rights. Indeed, it is not enough to merely win an election; rather, we must go on the offensive and eliminate tyranny, not debate with it.

In the coming months, we will remain aggressively focused on achieving key strategic victories to meet our current objectives—victories necessary for long-term success in restoring the full right to keep and bear arms throughout the United States and building a durable culture of engaged natural rights proponents. We will continue to adapt to the changing landscape and expand our program delivery to maximize results. And as President Trump aptly put it, we will “Fight! Fight! Fight!”

Firearms Policy Coalition (firearmspolicy.org), a 501(c)4 nonprofit membership organization, exists to create a world of maximal human liberty, defend constitutional rights, advance individual liberty, and restore freedom. We work to achieve our strategic objectives through litigation, research, scholarly publications, amicus briefing, legislative and regulatory action, grassroots activism, education, outreach, and other programs. Our FPC Law program (FPCLaw.org) is the nation’s preeminent legal action initiative focused on restoring the right to keep and bear arms throughout the United States.
