Without question, the Mossberg Shockwave has carved out a distinctive niche in the world of firearms. It merges practicality with innovative design. While the initial Shockwave launch consisted of purely black guns with polymer furniture, Mossberg later gave us a treat. Say hello to the classic and sexy Mossberg 590 Nightstick. The Mossberg 590 Nightstick is a must-have for enthusiasts looking for a blend of tradition and modernity.

The Mossberg 590 Nightstick is a must-have for enthusiasts looking for a blend of tradition and modernity.

First, for those new to the party, here’s the backstory. Launched in 2017, the 590 Shockwave was classified as a “firearm” rather than a shotgun. This allows it to skip some of the regulations associated with traditional shotguns, such as barrel length restrictions. The popular Mossberg 590 Nightstick fits into this category too.

Mossberg 590 Nightstick – Short and Sexy

At first glance, the Shockwave looks like a shotgun, but its 14-inch barrel and compact size make it stand out. Weighing around six pounds, the Shockwave is highly maneuverable, making it ideal for tight spaces such as hallways or small rooms. The unique “bird’s head” grip enhances control, allowing shooters to handle the firearm confidently, even in high-stress situations. Among these standout models, the Mossberg 590 Nightstick undoubtedly catches the eye.

The 590 Nightstick is small and east to maneuver.

One of the Shockwave’s defining features is its versatility. While designed for home defense, it’s also popular for recreational shooting. Its lightweight and compact nature makes it a favorite among those looking for an easily portable firearm for outings. The Mossberg 590 Nightstick version enhances this portability with its rugged charm.

Compact Shooter

The 590 Shockwave line has now grown to include 15 versions. My favorite, by far, is the 590 Nightstick. This gun retains all the functions and benefits of the original design but also includes wood furniture. Perhaps it’s my curmudgeonly ways or simply the contrast of colors, but I love wood furniture on a shotgun. The team at Mossberg clearly shares my feelings, which is why the Mossberg 590 Nightstick stands out.

The Best Version

While I have no way to quantify or prove it, the 590 Nightstick is the best version of the Shockwave. It shoots faster, is more accurate, cures headaches, and will make you popular with the opposite sex. Ok, none of that is true, yet the gun is undeniably good-looking. For those who claim that it doesn’t matter, you are fooling yourself. Nobody sits around the fire talking about their favorite ugly gun.

The 590 Nightstick has a classic look.

If you want a solid personal protection gun, the 590 Shockwave should be on your checkout list. If you decide it is the gun for you, I suggest you add a little class to the mix and consider the 590 Nightstick. You can be armed and cool simultaneously when owning a Mossberg 590 Nightstick.
