Traffic cameras captured the moment when Deputy Miron climbed from her patrol vehicle and into a moving car to bring the situation under control, according to the report.

The incident unfolded on Sept. 12 when deputies spotted a 63-year-old man driving at approximately 5 miles per hour. When officers attempted to pull him over, the driver did not stop and appeared unresponsive.

According to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies noticed the man seemed “in a daze, unable to comprehend the requests.”

After the driver eventually rolled down his window and applied the brakes, Deputy Miron, positioned in the passenger seat of the patrol vehicle, climbed out of the window and into the moving truck, according to the report.

“I commend Deputy Miron for putting herself in harm’s way to help a citizen in need and protect other drivers on the roadway,” Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said. “Due to her quick thinking and selfless actions, she safely ended what could have been a tragic situation.”

The driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
