Palmetto State Armory, a leader in the United States AK market has released its Battlefield Line. This is a line of the most known historic war guns that there are, with some modern twists. The first gun in the line is the Sturmgewehr 44 from the Germans in WWII. The remade STG-44 from PSA is going to come in four calibers including the German 8mm Kurz. Some modern features are the removable rear sight, suppressor ready due to threaded barrel and removable gas block, and the ability to fit AR-15 magazines.

PSA Battlefield — STG-44
Main Features
- Keeping to the historic STG-44 with tilting bolt, long stroke gas piston, and stamped sheet metal.
- Comes in 8mm Kurz, 5.56, 300 Blackout, and 7.62×39.
- Traditionally threaded barrel to allow for modern suppressors.
- Removable unsuppressed gas plug made to look like the stacking swivel of the traditional STG-44. They would use these stacking swivels to stack three guns standing instead of laying them on the ground during the war.
- Ships with a 28-round magazine. Due to being able to fit AR-15 platform magazines, the traditional magazine was reconfigured to hold single stacked 28 rounds but still look like the traditional STG-44 magazine.
- The rear sight can come unscrewed, enabling the user to put an optic on.
- Wood pistol grip and stock.
Purchasing
The PSA STG-44 is not available to be purchased yet. However, it is slated to be released this year with a lot of confidence from PSA. They stated that the price will be north of $2,000.
It is worth it to note that Hill and Mac Gunworks (HMG) is making this STG for PSA. In 2016 HMG started this gun and a few years later the company stated some logistical issues. Now, the build is being taken over by PSA. Therefore, if an STG-44 under HMG was pre-ordered you will still be getting an HMG-branded STG however, any future orders will be coming as a PSA STG-44.
