The DPS certified online course is easy and you can take it at your own pace. It is available 24/7 and it is the most popular way to get certified for your license.

Step two is to complete the shooting portion. The online course will show you how to access the instructor locator to find a local instructor in your area to complete the shooting for you.

Make sure you complete the online course first before contacting an instructor for the shooting portion, you will need the certificate of training (LTC101) from the online course. The certificate is available for instant download as soon as you complete the online course.

Step three is to submit your application for the license on the DPS website and get your fingerprints taken digitally. Once you submit your online application, DPS will email you the instructions on how to schedule your fingerprint appointment.
