CHICAGO — A 4-year-old boy’s wish to become a cop has now come true, thanks to the Chicago Police Department
Khalil, who has sickle cell disease, was able to spend a day working as a cop with the help of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, CPD’s detail unit and the CPD Police Academy, according to WGNTV.
“He gets blood transfusions once-a-month to minimize him having a stroke,” Tasha Parker-Hill, Khalil’s mom, said.
Khalil was given a tour to find out what it’s really like to be a cop, which included a police escort to the police academy. He was also gifted a custom-made uniform.
“He’s obsessed with the police,” Parker-Hill added. “Like if we’ll ride in the car and he’ll see the police, he’ll be like, ‘police, police!'”
After a fun-filled day of being a cop, his parents said he will most likely watch police videos at home.
