Tisas 1911 Stingray Carry: Ideal Concealed By: Kat Ainsworth

Guns are tools, meaning it’s a good idea to make sure the one you choose is well-suited to the task at hand. In the case of self-defense, that means finding the gun that fits the specific defensive purpose. For example, if you want to carry the gun on your body, you’re most likely going to want a handgun that can be concealed. The Tisas USA 1911 Stingray Carry is made for concealment and to provide gun owners with an affordable option for self-defense needs.

Tisas 1911 A1 Service Pistol
If you’d rather have a full-size 1911, Tisas manufactures the 1911 A1 Service Pistol. This is a Government sized gun with a 5-inch barrel. (Photo credit: Tisas)

Guns ship from the factory with two magazines and a cleaning kit, packed in a hard shell case with a foam insert cut to fit the specific model of gun. Novak three-dot sights come standard. Safeties are standard 1911 style: Grip safety, thumb safety, and internal safeties. This is a modern Series 70 gun.

In addition, to increase concealability, the back portion of the base of the grip is angled. Tisas did this using the Ed Brown Bobtail cut. This helps reduce the risk of printing and can also stop the gun from cutting into the wearer’s skin. Skeletonized components also help reduce the gun’s weight somewhat. The gun’s overall design makes it clear the gun maker considered the needs of gun owners focused on concealed carry. If you’re looking for a compact 9mm 1911, this pistol is worth a closer look.
