NEW YORK — On Sunday, September 11, video captured the entire crowd at the Jets vs. Ravens game singing along with New York Police Department officer Brianna Fernandez to the national anthem.

According to the New York Post, the touching moment occurred just before the kickoff for the game at the MetLife Stadium. Officer Fernandez invited those in attendance to sing.

“I’m so excited to be here, so thrilled to be singing on this special day. I hope that everyone joins in with me today,” Fernandez said.

Fernandez is the daughter of NYPD officer Luis Fernandez, who died in 2014 from 9/11-related cancer. His daughter now works in the 9th precinct, which is where her father worked on 9/11.

The song was posted to the Jets’ Twitter page, where it’s been reshared almost 2,000 times.
