DELTONA, Fla. — A 15-second TikTok video showing a deputy engaging in a foot pursuit quickly garnered over four million views. However, the Volusia Sheriff’s Office responded by releasing its own video, which combines the 15-second clip with body camera footage from the deputy’s perspective to clear up any confusion about the pursuit.

The pursuit starts after the :15 second mark, where the department included text reading, “Here’s the rest of the story.” The suspect takes off after being stopped by the deputy, who then engages in a short foot pursuit.

The suspect, Cleveland Rahymes, Jr., was wanted for warrants on trafficking meth and cocaine, as well as fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement.

“I stopped you because you weren’t wearing your seatbelt,” the deputy says in the video. “I apologize, man,” Rahymes responds.

He was later charged with resisting an officer without violence and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
