Lee Loadmaster Specs

  • # of Stations 5 Station Reloading Press
  • Materials Cast Aluminum
  • Dimensions 19 x 11 x 10 inches
  • Weight 6.61lbs

The Lee LoadMaster is a cost-effective option with many of the capabilities you would expect in more expensive models, but generally at a better price point. This is suitable for several cartridge options including handguns and rifles.

The Loadmaster comes with everything you need to get started. Straight out of the box, you’ll find;

  • Press assembly
  • Pro Auto Disk powder measure
  • Completed cartridge bin bracket
  • Primer Blast shield
  • Flip tray for the Primer management
  • The parts for the case feed
  • Owner’s manual materials
  • Cartridge bin for the completed cartridges
  • 3 die set
  • Die lock ring wrench

An optional extra is the Lee Bench Plate to mount the Lee Load Master onto your bench or the Lee Reloading Stand if you don’t have the space or the room on your work bench.

The press assembly comes with the tool head installed and the shell plate pre-installed.

Primer blast shield – Lee recommends using CCI or Remington primers, but if you’re using anything other than these brands Lee recommends you use the primer blast shield to protect you in the unlikely event that a primer might detonate from the primer being crushed. This is an optional device to add on, but I think it’s worth putting on regardless of what brand of primers I’m using.

Finally we also need to remember to organise any extra related products. You’ll also be needing the appropriate powder, bullets, primers and cases that’ll suit your end result as well as some other tools such as digital calipers, case gauge and so forth.

There are some awesome videos on this whole process on YouTube, and I would highly recommend taking some time to check them out and familiarize yourself with the whole setup process and operation process prior to using the Lee loadmaster progressive reloading presses.

The Lee load master is ideal if you’re shooting more than around 500 rounds per week. I generally get to the range shooting my 9mm Shadow 2 around twice a week with IPSC, and at this stage I’m not quite going through that many rounds, but I’m going through enough to not want to spend all day reloading on a single-stage press. This is why I love the progressive reloading press.

The number of stations in a reloading press affects how quickly and efficiently it can be used. The Lee Precision LoadMaster kit has 5 stations, which allows users to reload around 400 rounds in an hour which is perfect when I’m needing to pump out a lot of 9mm ammo.

Once set up and everything is running smoothly, this is a simple, easy to use press that really comes in at an affordable price for progressive reloading presses.

If you don’t feel that you’re quite at the stage for a progressive reloading press, a single stage press might be what you’re looking for. My favorite single stage reloading press is the RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme Press.
