TWINSBURG, Ohio — A 25-year-old officer has been hailed a hero after saving two lives in one shift last month.
Twinsburg Police Department Officer Olivia Bartulovic, 25, had responded to a call regarding a male who went into cardiac arrest on July 18, News 5 Cleveland reported. Once she arrived on scene, the man was receiving CPR from a co-worker. Bartulovic took over until EMS arrived.
“I later found out, later in my shift, that he was alert and they got a heart rhythm back,” Bartulovic told News 5 Cleveland.
Then, just a couple of hours later, Bartulovic received another call for a man in cardiac arrest. After arriving on scene, she saw the man’s wife giving him CPR.
“I told her just to calm down and that I will take it from here,” she said. “Before [EMS] even pulled out of the driveway, he was alert.”
Chief Tom Mason commended Bartulovic for her lifesaving actions.
“What she did is pretty incredible, but to do it twice in one day is even more incredible,” Mason said.
