This article will cover the best Robinson Arms XCR upgrades and accessories.
What Is A Robinson Arms XCR?
The XCR is a rifle that was designed for the special operations community. XCR stands for exchangeable caliber rifle.
This gas piston design is similar to the Scar 17 rifle, but in many ways, it is superior.
Robinson Armament offers this rifle in many different calibers and barrel lengths, and they even make caliber conversion kits.
The Robinson XCR is truly an ambidextrous weapon platform, and one of its most noticeable features is its non-reciprocating side charging handle.
This weapon was first designed back in 2008 but has been updated throughout the years. If you want a primarily battle rifle but something that is not a traditional AR-15 style rifle, then the Robinson XCR is a great option.
Where To Purchase A Robinson Arms XCR?
If you do not already own a Robinson XCR, your best chance is to find one online. Every gun store in my area has not had any of these in stock, but your location may differ.
These are also hard to find online as well.
Ordering one online and sending it to your local FFL is the easiest way to pick up one of these awesome guns. Here is a link to the Robinson XCR if you want to order one.

Best Robinson Arms XCR Upgrades & Accessories
The parts mentioned below will work for all Robinson XCR variants and calibers. These upgrades and accessories will be compatible. Also, the pistol version and rifle version will accept these parts.
If upgrading the pistol version, make sure you do not convert it to a short barrel rifle (SBR) without following all of the laws surrounding it.

Best Robinson XCR Stock & Adapter
The stock on the Robinson XCR is decent but not as solid as I would prefer. There is a little wobble, and it could be more comfortable while shouldering.
Upgrading the stock is what I recommend to do first to the Robinson XCR. You will need an adapter and a buffer tube. The setup I went for is a folding stock, so you will also need a folding mechanism, and the stock I recommend already comes with a stock tube extension.
Dlask Arms Stock Adapter
The Dlask Arms Stock Adapter will allow you to add any AR-15 style buffer tube and stock to the Robinson XCR. It is made from type 3 hard anodized aluminum and is of great quality.
These have QD sling mounting points on both sides and will accept mil-spec and commercial-sized buffer tubes.
You will need this part to attach a different stock to the rifle.

Matador Arms Sidewinder
The best part for adding an aftermarket stock on the XCR and being able to fold it is the Matador Arms Sidewinder attachment.
This part is lightweight, strong, and reversible, so you can fold it in either direction and know it’ll stay put.
It locks up tight in both positions and is much cheaper than many other brands. It also allows you to index to any angle you choose.
If you want to be able to fold whatever stock you add, then you will need this part.

Magpul UBR Gen2 Collapsible Carbine Stock
One of the best stocks you can add to the XCR is the Magpul UBR Gen 2 Collapsible Stock.
These adjust to 8 different positions so you can set up to establish a comfortable, consistent cheek weld and shoot more accurately.
This stock feels fixed stock with no rattling and feel substantial for better balance on the whole gun.
Front and rear QD sling attachment points make sling installation easy. This is a rock-solid setup, and with the adapter, you have a compact stock that is still very durable and comfortable.

Best Robinson XCR Foregrip
Depending on what handguard style you have will determine what foregrip you should get. The XCR is made in both Keymod and MLOK style handguards.
These are both popular mounting styles, so there are plenty of good options for a foregrip. I recommend using a vertical foregrip and not an angled foregrip. This is because you can always use a vertical foregrip with an angled grip, but if you have an angled foregrip, you can only use it that way.
I will recommend the best Keymod and the best MLOK style foregrips.
Magpul M-LOK MVG Vertical Grip
One of the best vertical foregrips for the XCR is the Magpul MVG. It is simple and sleek and has the perfect amount of length and grip texture.
It is a very easy and simple install to the under rail and will work for the MLOK version of the Robinson XCR.
This is a quick upgrade but still one of the best accessories for the Robinson XCR.

Ergo KeyMod Mini Max Vertical Foregrip
The best Keymod-style vertical foregrip for the XCR is the Ergo Mini Max. This is very similar to the Magpul MVG as being simple and useful.
It is solid and sleek and does not stick out too far under the rifle.
The Mini Max is a traditional VFG but is versatile enough to be used as an angled forward grip or a hand stop. This durable KeyMod component is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and anodized to a matte black finish.

Best Robinson XCR Optics
This very capable platform can be used in many different scenarios. I recommend using a red dot sight if you plan on using this primarily as a home defense gun.
If you want more of a “do it all” gun, then adding a low-power variable optic (LPVO) is what I recommend. Regardless of your choice, all the optics I list are of great quality and will work great on the Robinson XCR.
Choosing between them depends on personal preference and the intended purpose for which you want the Robinson XCR to be used.
Two main optics will work great overall on this rifle, no matter your caliber and barrel length.
Best Overall Robinson Arms XCR Optic
The Trijicon ACOG and the Elcan Specter are the best choices for this platform. They have been around for a while and continue to hold their place as some of the best optics.
If you have never shot with either of these, then now is a good time to check them out.
Best Robinson XCR Light
For any serious battle rifle or self-defense gun, you need a good weapon light. It needs to be reliable and bright.
There are many good options nowadays for weapon lights, but I always go back to the tried and true one.
SureFire M600 Ultra Scout Light
Identifying your target is crucial; if it’s dark, you will need a weapon light.
The Surefire M600 is my go-to for this. It is bright, reliable, and has the option to add a tape switch with a pressure pad for momentary on and off.
These have been around a while and are still trusted as one of the best weapon lights.

Tail Cap Pressure Pad
They make a Tail Cap Pressure Pad with a button, letting you have a constant on and off button.
With this switch, you can have the most efficient ergonomic light setup and will not have to move your hand to activate it. This will stop you from breaking your shooting grip.

Arisaka Defense Inline Scout Mount
I mount this on my handguard using the Arisaka Defense Inline Scout Mount. It’s slim and rock solid.
It takes up minimal rail space and is MLOK, so you can easily attach the Surefire M600 to the Robinson XCR.
They also make a version in Keymod as well.

Cloud Defensive LCS Mount
I have the tape switch running to a Cloud Defensive LCS Mount that works great. I am super happy with this setup and believe it’s the best solution for mounting a weapon light with a pressure pad.
A good weapon light on a rifle is one of my favorite Robinson XCR upgrades and accessories.
This is also made in Keymod versions.

Best Robinson XCR Sling
You need a sling to secure your rifle to your body, and if you plan on doing any serious tactical or running and gunning.
I recommend a good two-point sling for a rifle like the Robinson XCR. It is the best option and will allow you to transition to a pistol smoothly.
Blue Force Gear Vickers Padded Sling
One of the best slings I have ever used is the Blue Force Gear Vickers Sling. It is the best quality sling that is the most functional.
This QD version has push-button attachments that make switching mount points or rifles quick and easy.
A pull tab allows you to tighten or loosen the fly’s sling quickly.
They make this sling in a few colors and camo patterns, and the quality is top-notch. This sling is durable and rugged and will last very long.
If you still do not own a good quality sling, then now is a good time to make the investment and pick one up.
