Hello and welcome to TFB Podcast Roundup 53! Every year I think the gun industry goes through an intense cycle of focusing on hearing protection and this inevitably sparks discussion around suppressors and other sound mitigation techniques. While over-the-ear hearing protection becomes a must, especially with supersonic or much more powerful or larger cartridges, with many standard intermediate cartridges, a suppressor is often the way to go. In one particular episode that caught my attention this week, Vortex Nation has on audiologist Grace Sturdivant, owner of OtoPro Technologies, to talk about the human ear, how it works, and what really needs to happen in order for us to protect our hearing while handling and enjoying firearms. In addition to that great episode, we’ve got other good podcasts for your commute, chore list, or study session. Sit back, relax and enjoy this week’s selection of gun-related podcast content for TFB Podcast Roundup 53!

Live to Shoot Podcast – Red Flag Laws, Do they Work?
Length: 11 Minutes
In this episode we discuss how effective Red Flag Laws are.
What are Red Flag Laws?
In the United States, a red flag law is a gun control law that permits police to petition a state court to order the temporary removal of firearms from a person who they believe may present a danger to others or themselves. A judge makes the determination to issue the order based on statements and actions made by the gun owner in question. Refusal to comply with the order is punishable as a criminal offense.

History Unloaded Podcast Season Six: Space Cowboys
Length: 39 Minutes
In this episode, Danny and Ashley talk about westerns, sci-fi and why the future is so obsessed with 19th century firearms.
If you’re curious about a couple of films and or TV shows that use this prop you can no doubt reference one of my all-time favorite “gun TV shows” the Fox Television series Firefly which featured a ton of heavily modified firearms like AK-47s, various SxS and O/U shotguns, and a ton of Single Action Army revolvers dressed up as laser pistols.

TFB B-Side Podcast: Practical Shooting with The Humble Marksman
Length: 60 Minutes
In today’s episode of the TFB B-Side Podcast, we’ve brought on competitive shooter Dave Blanton otherwise known as The Humble Marksman on YouTube and Instagram. Dave hasn’t had your typical journey through the ranks of IDPA and USPS but instead is pretty much just a regular joe like you and I that has a passion for high-speed low drag shooting. On today’s podcast, Dave and I talk at length about the competitive shooting scene, how it started, how it’s going, and where we hope it’ll land in the future. It hasn’t been easy this last couple of years inside the walls of USPSA but hopefully, things are looking better on the horizon. Please welcome today’s guest Dave Blanton!
